Timeline: Being Natural – 1 Month In

Okay, you’ve just ‘big chopped’… now what?

Well, you could either freak out that your hair’s so short and different and cover it up with weaves, braids or *gasp* relax it again! Umm, please don’t. You’ve jumped, well done to you! The trick is to realise you’ve landed in the beautiful world of natural, where trees are pink and everyone skips around holding hands. Haha, not quite. My random point is, it’s going to be okay. You probably haven’t been natural since you were a child or teen and it’s okay to not really know what you’re doing. It will take some time, just like riding a bike or learning a new language. You will learn. Your hair is your guide, trust it.

Some hair bloggers/vloggers count how long they’ve been natural from their last relaxer, others from when they’ve chopped. I’ve been counting from when I actually chopped my hair off. Please don’t get confused and think it’s the time from when I last relaxed my hair, so just add on 3 months to the time I’ve been fully natural in order to calculate how long I’ve actually been growing my hair.
