Another Afro Saved: Darla’s Fro

One of my closest friends, Darla did a SECOND big chop. Yes, her second.
She chopped last year a few weeks after I did and again last week. So, she’s jumped not once but twice and landed safely in the world of natural afros. You may recognise her from these Kizazi pics:

These were taken a few weeks after her first big chop, then she let it
grow whilst wearing braids etc. When she moved back home to Rwanda, she
decided to try out dreads and was sure that was the style for her.  And
she looked great in them too. She even wrote a guest post for me that I’ve been
meaning to post for a little while, will do so right after this #lifeofaprocrastinator

But I got a distressed tweet from her last week saying she heard somewhere that the type of dreads she got could end up giving her bald patches, so decided to save her hair and cut it all off again, this time, even shorter than before. Some might call her crazy because of the length of dreads she had but I say good for you and here’s to saving hair!

Darla ma cherie, you look A-MA-ZING!

But you did! And I'm so proud, it's not easy doing it once but twice?! 😮
