I am beyond shocked and excited to see that this lil’ blog of mine has received over 100,000 hits today.
For some bloggers and internet sites, this number might not be much but to me, it means something. It means that there are people out there who honestly believe that what I have to say and share about my hair is worth reading. It means that natural hair is valued, appreciated and loved. It means that I may have just fulfilled my initial goal for making my blog public; if there is one woman out there who can see me and my resistant/coarse/stubborn African hair and how I manage it and can be inspired to love hers too, then I’ll be happy. And from the immense amount of support I’ve received from readers all over the world, I think it’s fair to say I’m VERY happy.
I realised the other day, that what I ramble on about is bigger than me. There’s a very important shift happening in people’s mentality when it comes to natural hair and beauty. People of all races and backgrounds are seeing that we can be intelligent, confident, successful, professional, creative, beautiful and natural. I am honestly grateful, humbled and honoured to be a part of that.
Thank you.
I love your blog so much. Keep up the good work.
This is another reason I'm so proudly natural.
