Last Week’s Looks: The Updo Challenge Ends

I’m a little late with This Week’s Looks post, for obvious reasons :p so here it is.

—————————————————————————————————————————-

I’m not gonna lie, the week before last week wasn’t a very inspired week. And as last
week approached, I had officially run out of styles (except for day
30). So come Monday morning…I just winged it. And on Tuesday…and
Wednesday…

Monday:

Tuesday,
lol…Tuesday’s style was the best bad hair day save of my life. I lie,
it was the second (I’m thinking about some absolutely dreadful braids I
got in 7th grade that I had to wear for a month). So there I was soooo
excited about my new banana clip that I wore on Monday. It was so easy
to use and I couldn’t believe I’d spent my 27 years on this Earth having
never used one! I decided to use it on Tuesday too, this time in a sort
of fro-hawk style. Just less than 10 minutes to go until I have to get
to work and all’s well. Spritz – check, gel – check, slick edges –
check! Banana clip in my hair…right side’s good…now…just…the
left bit… and that’s when I heard a loud ‘KA’! And just like that, my
banana clip died. My hair simply refused to fit into that thing, and it
wasn’t even alllll of my hair, more like 70% of it. Boom, done,
destroyed, snapped the poor clip in half. RIP. It was only a day old.

Shock
doesn’t even begin to describe how I was feeling. All I knew was I now had 5
minutes to fix my hair and do my make up. Not without cursing my hair
for being so big and stubborn. I know I say we should stop cursing our
hair, but I think I can get a pass for those 4 minutes I was wrestling
it into this style. Thank God for other clips! And combs…and
pins. That’s what was needed to quickly create a new updo. At the end of
it all, I had to laugh. What else to do? Fro and I were tied on this
one. Aisha 1: Fro 1.

Wednesday:

Thursday:

Friday:

Saturday AKA Day 30!

My feeble attempt at indicating ’30’!

And
with that, my second hair challenge officially ends. But the styles
will live on! As promised, I’ll be sharing tutorials on how I achieved
each and every one of these updos on my Youtube channel. As they say,
subscribe and watch this space…

    Number 30! A killer!

I actually fell for your April fools day prank. I was busy asking myself, now what will this blog be about, relaxed hair?

    • April 12, 2013 / 8:51 am

LOL! I actually was thinking of even changing my logo to a hair silhouette that 'falls' and crossing out the "Fro" and replacing it to "My Relaxed Hair & I" hehehe
