Some impromptu photos I took earlier today. I washed my hair for the first time since installing the cornrows in. So it’s been two weeks and I’m really impressed with how well they’re holding up. Of course, they’re getting looser and my baby hairs are getting fuzzier but it’s still very decent and neat.
How I’m caring for this style:
- I spritz my hair daily either with my daily spritz or my braid spray by Restore Plus
- I rub some hair food on right after in the same direction as the ‘rows
- I then attach the pony and off I go to work
- In the evening, I remove the pony and wrap my hair with my scarf before heading to sleep. Next day’s the same story.
Yesterday I co-washed with some cheap conditioner I’ve been using from Dischem. I spritzed my hair afterwards and sealed it with my hair food before air drying. This morning I lay my fluffy edges down with some gel.
So apart from the nightmarish tightness the style was initially, I’m pretty happy with this style. Not sure if I’ll keep it fully intact until after next week but I’ll see. It’s a nice and easy change for me 🙂
What a lovely outfit! And I love the way you styled your hair 🙂

Wow I would have never guess that was a clip on puff! It looks so natural. That sounds like a perfect protective style. I might try it soon. Love your style by the way 🙂
Nice post. Cute pics.
I like it for the fact that, its simple but pretty.
Love your site! Loads of inspiration for me as a 4C girl just moving from pulling my locs out and had never experienced free natural hair before. Do tell where you got that hair puff? Its soooo nice!
You look cute, I love the hot pink. They still look great! My cornrows usually last about 3 weeks. But by the 3rd week they start to get a little fuzzy.
