This Week’s Looks: Cape Town Edition

So, if you follow me on Instagram, you’d know that I spent last weekend and half of this past week in the gorgeous city of Cape Town with my man for our anniversary. If you don’t follow me on Instagram – why not?!

What to say about Cape Town? Well, I’d never been before and after spending a fantastic almost five days there, I could easily see why Joburg has lost a few residents to this city. From the wines to the food, to the ocean and the people it was just fabulous. And the view – oh, the view! As one of my close friends told me after her trip there “everywhere you go in Cape Town, there’s a view” and how right she was. Table Mountain is such a sight and its presence is undeniable. Even at night, seeing the silhouette of that wonder is so humbling. The weather was definitely on our side throughout the trip which was a welcomed change from the grumpiness that was Joburg. We wined, we dined and had the most amazing time.

And the big bad fro was a massive hit. It has been since I installed it but it was the perfect style for me to rock on holiday. No fuss, quick and out we go. From the hotel staff to random strangers in stores to German tourists on Table Mountain wanting to get a photo (lol!), seems that it’s caught a lot of people’s attention. The one reaction that cracked me up the most: a little boy not more than 5 years old coming up to me at a wine estate in Franschhoek and exclaiming to me in Afrikaans “Your hair is sooo big! I love it! My hair is too short” lol. Made my day.

Hands down my best holiday thus far.

I ♥ Cape Town.

Oh my goodness, just from the photos I want to visit South Africa… Honestly. I'm from Guyana, which is on the northern coast of South America. I studied with some African students a while back and since then, I've been obsessed with all things Africa.

A multi country tour of Africa is definitely on my bucket list.

Love your hair and your blog. Take Care…
