My Wedding Story Part 3: The Love Story

I’ve been asked by my readers many times over the years and I was asked again recently: “How did you two meet? What’s your story?”

Well, I thought it’d be nice to share with you a bit more info on our background and lead up before sharing the details of the wedding day – you know, to put it into context. My husband and I have a story of a relationship. It was never a “boy meets girl at work and fell in love” type of situation. So when we got engaged, we really felt that this story of ours needed to be acknowledged at our wedding. I’d always wanted a certain colour scheme for my wedding but there was also an underlying theme of ‘story’ there, our love story to be exact. Hence the names of these posts! And we did our wedding the way we wanted, with our story being reminded to people every step of the way; from the invite to the table names to the party favours and the guest book.

We’re creatives. So we don’t do everything by the book. Naturally, elements of our wedding were no exception. Instead of sending people a traditional posted invite, we decided to begin our wedding journey with our underlying theme and remind them of our story of how we got to our wedding day. I’ll share that with you to answer the question of how we met.

Yup, we’re high school sweethearts, together for more than ten years now 🙂

For the guest book, we didn’t want to have a normal one, as we wanted something we’d want to look at for the years to come as a visual treat. So we created a coffee table photographic book; staring us. The final product had empty spaces and blank boxes on the actual photos for guests to fill in with their messages. It was the only detail about our wedding we kept a surprise to everyone, including the wedding party – and we had so much fun doing it! Here are some pics from our guest book:

Okay, so now you know our beginnings, and our wedding theme, I think you have enough context for My Wedding Part 4
