L’Oréal’s Super Liner Blackbuster – R149.95
One of my make up staples ever since I began wearing it has been eyeliner. I’ve been using L’Oréal’s liquid Super Liner Perfect Slim for years so when they came out with Blackbuster I was very curious to see what the difference would be. It’s the same awesome, non smudge liner that I love just fatter! So no doubling on my lines as I used to with the Perfect Slim version if I want to get a thick, even line. Both liners are fool-proof, especially for those with shaky hands, and they last the whole day. As you can see in the pic, it’s like a marker pen/kokie. But. For. Your. Eyes. How intuitive?! Love.
Palmer’s Coconut Body Butter – R46.95
A thick, creamy and scrumdidillyumptious butter that rivals The Body Shop’s coconut body butter – at a fraction of the price. I first grabbed this butter’s sister (Shea Butter scented) about two months ago when the temperature took a dive into winter. It almost did the job, but the scent reminded me of old-school hair food, which I don’t like. So when it finished, I grabbed this one and haven’t looked back. Sounds crazy, but I actually look forward to moisturising my skin after I shower now. After I’ve put it on, I smell like I’ve taken a dip in a bath of coconut milk. And many people who don’t even get closer to me than my personal space allows, have told me that I smell like freshly baked cookies. My real test when it comes to butters and lotions is if my feet stay smooth and moisturised the whole day. And it’s passed with flying colours. Oh and my husband loves it!
Revlon’s 60 Seconds Quick Dry Spray – R120
I don’t say this about many products – beauty or otherwise – but this product has changed my life. I’m going to say that again: THIS PRODUCT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. Any woman who does her nails on the regular knows how much pre-planning needs to be done before she commits to painting her nails. I have an hour before bed time, are they going to dry in time? The party starts in half an hour, are they going to dry in time? He’s picking me up for our date at 7, are they going to dry in time?! I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw the product claim I thought “hmm, really? In 60 seconds huh? We’ll see about that…” then I sprayed and officially crossed over to the converted. Another great thing about it is that each spray spurt is enough for one nail, so you don’t have to worry about timing it exactly to make sure your nails is properly coated. Paint. Spray. Go. Ain’t nobody got time for drying nails.
Wet n Wild’s Megalast in Private Viewing – R54.95
I’m currently having a love affair with nude and neutral nail polishes. It took me awhile to find friendly shades for us black girls, so when I find a new one, I get really excited. I stumbled on this at the Clicks Cosmo Cover Girl Workshop a couple of weeks ago. They weren’t selling products at the event so on my way home I passed by a Clicks store to grab it. It’s subtle and very chic. With a top coat this polish lasted a good work week before it started chipping. And at less than R60 a pop, I think it’s a great budget buy that doesn’t act like a budget buy. I’m actually just loving Wet n Wild as a brand right now. Oooh.
Womp womp product: Essie’s Partner in Crime – R124.95
Most of the time I don’t have time to re-do my nails during the week. Well, who does really? So Sundays are my DIY manicure days and for me there’s nothing worse than chipped nail polish. It begins to chip after just two days. I love the colour. It’s a gorgeous dark chocolate brown. But the quality was very disappointing, especially considering it currently retails for over R120. If I spend that much on polish, best believe I’m expecting it to last a week and cook me dinner too. I’ve really tried everything – added extra coats, doing dishes less, even topping up my top coat mid week to extend its life span. Nothing. Nada. Not buying again.
What are some of your current beauty faves?

Lovely post. I'll definitely be giving Revlon's quick dry spray a try in the near future, because as you say, "Ain't know one got time for their nails to dry".
Right!!
