Right Now I’m Lovin’: Pink October

Clockwise from bottom left: Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue, Pond’s Flawless Radiance BB Cream,

Catrice Lip Colour Ultimate, Clicks Exfoliating Gloves, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

It’s no surprise that pink is my favourite colour. It’s warm, vibrant, and undoubtedly feminine. So it makes total sense for the colour to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month is pink. In my salute to this gorge hue, here are some fab pink goodies I’ve been loving this month.

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue – R31.95

I’m not a fan of lip balms that come as sticks. Lol, reading back at that statement makes me sound crazy but it’s the truth. I grew up using Vaseline all day everyday, so whenever I tried something new I’d automatically compare it to my old faithful. Then I got this and lipstick wearing has never been the same again. I’ve been using this in the evenings for a night time moisture boost and in the mornings before I do my make up. What I love about it is that it doesn’t break up/dissolve my lippie when I apply it (you know that funny cakey look). So it makes for a great primer for me – smoothes my lips and plays friendly with my lipsticks. Especially for the matte ones that dry out my lips, it’s a great moisturising boost during the day over my lips.

Catrice Lip Colour Ultimate in In a Rose Garden – R69.95

I’m having a love affair with nude colours at the moment. From my nails to lips, I’m loving the look that nude shades give. I also haven’t found it easy to get nudes for brown women, especially lippies because many of them just look chalky. You know I love my hot pink lippies, so when I found this one by Catrice, I was looking forward to the look because it’s different from what I usually wear. It’s a pretty, subtle, pinkish nude that’s so moisturising it completes a glowy face of make up beautifully. Love it.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – R79.90

In case you missed my first impressions review on this cleanser, you can have a full read here. Since my 5 day challenge, I’ve continued using this much raved about cleanser as part of my evening routine. Particularly useful when I have some stubborn make up on, Garnier’s Micellar Water is a great gentle alternative to the wipes I’ve been using for years. It doesn’t sting my eyes so when I’m having a heavy eye make up day, it’s what I reach for.

Clicks Exfoliating Gloves – R39.95

We’re in the deep of summer and nothing screams sunny days more than exposed skin. Sponges can only do so much, so I’ve been using these gloves to help remove dry, dead skin cells from my skin. They’re clearly so easy to use and really help with pesky ingrown hairs. For an awesome combo, I pair it up with my scrub, especially for hard skin areas like my feet. Scaly feet are the killers of a gorgeous sandal look!

Pond’s Flawless Radiance BB Cream in Chocolate – R90

As you know, my daily make up routine doesn’t normally consist of foundation. My thing at the moment is: lotion, BB cream and powder. That’s it. I love the light coverage this BB Cream gives, and it also doesn’t get my face so oily. It does a great job of blending into my skin and looks very natural. My fave thing about this cream? The price tag 🙂

All of the above, unless otherwise stated, are available from Clicks or Dischem.
