In case you didn’t know (and if you don’t, where have you been?) Clicks is having their infamous winter beauty sale. You know I’m a sucker for bargains, so I’m always excited when I see my favourite products on special. 3 for 2 deals, even better. Let’s face it, as a beauty conscious mom it’s not exactly easy for me to get stuff for myself, and I always want to save where I can. From hair to skin care to basic beauty, you can stock up on some of your essentials at a discount. It’s also a nice time to try products you’ve been eyeing or even gifting them to another special woman in your life. I thought I’d give you a heads up and share some of my favourite beauty products currently on offer with you, because I love sharing a good bargain.
Sorbet Long Lasting Nail Colour in Melting Moments & Pro Gel Top Coat – 3 for 2
I absolutely love nudes in winter. I don’t know what it is but when that cold comes, I tone down not just my wardrobe colours but also my makeup. From lippie to nail colours, I love either the more neutral shades or severely dark shades. When I’ve worn this one, I’ve gotten so many compliments. A friend of mine even told me she was under the impression that nude nail colours made people’s fingers look odd until she saw me rocking this and couldn’t hide her awe. I think I’ve converted her. Slap on the top coat and my nail colour shelf life is extended by days.
Yardley Stayfast Lipstick in Nude
What is it about nudes? For years, I’ve lusted after the nude look but really battled to find many shades that were brown girl friendly. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s nervous about matte lippies. I see them on other women all the time and really envy that they can rock it. And I’ve tried so many but my dry lips are unforgiving. This lippie gives the right amount of nude without making my lips look washed out. It’s what I call an obvious nude and it’s matte. I was pleasantly surprised that this one has a matte finish but doesn’t apply chalkily and it doesn’t leave my lips cracked. It’s currently R104.95 at Clicks.
UBU Lash sets – 3 for 2
It’s a fantasy of mine to wear false lashes every day. But since I’m not a lash expert (yet), I like to keep it simple. These lash sets from UBU are user-friendly, come with glue and are reusable. They do have a set of individual lashes too, if that’s your preference. I just like the full set as I don’t have to think much about it. Just blob that glue on and go. Perfect for a flirty date night with hubby 🙂
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania
As stark as nudes can be, I also love the other extreme – bold, dark lips. OMG. That with a hint of eyeliner and mascara and it’s just chicness personified. I love how amazing us brown girls look with dark lips and for me, I save these hues for winter. It’s just so fitting. This lippie from NYX is a creamy consistency and the colour’s an extremely deep purple/grape. It’s almost black but not as severe if that’s not your thing. So it applies onto my lips as a cream, then dries matte. I know, for a girl who’s a bit weary of matte lippies, I’m actually really glad I have two I can vouch for and they’re both perfect for my winter look.
Browtician Tweezers – 3 for 2
I used to thread my eyebrows religiously. But I’ve had a few bad experiences with my brows that last couple of years. So much so, I decided to give them a break to grow back out while I was pregnant. Which they did, and beautifully. Only for them to have been butchered again. So for now, I’m leaving them be and only ‘tidying’ them up by tweezing a few stray hair here and there. These tweezers are so pretty, and the grip I get with them is great. They come is a really cute portable case that’s handbag friendly. What’s also nice is that they’re stainless steel, so I don’t have to worry about them rusting. Have I mentioned that they’re pretty?
The sale is on until next week so get on with your shopping and grab some goodies before it ends. And if you haven’t already, check out my giveaway on Instagram. Look for this photo on my feed, follow the instructions and enter to win a R5000 hamper from Clicks.
