My Number 1 Tip for Better Skin

I’m often asked about my skin care routine and what products I use on my face. I’m always proud to say that I’ve stuck to the same brand for more than 14 years. And it’s Johnson’s. That’s why it made sense for me to use their baby range on Kai. I’ve trusted them for years and although I’ve been blessed with good genes, I still need to actively care for my skin. So, if I were asked what’s the one thing I do that keeps my skin clean, clear and healthy: it’s removing my make up before I sleep. Hands down.

Apparently, as many as 30% of women go to sleep without cleaning their faces. I know we’re all guilty of it to some extent. I used to be, and I learned my lesson quickly. Considering all of the pollution, germs and well, life that we’re exposed to, it’s pretty crazy not to do this crucial step. It’s such an integral part of my evening routine, that the few times I haven’t done it (student life, pregnancy exhaustion, or just not finding my pack of wipes) I’ve woken up the next day feeling haggered, clogged up and with a pimple or two in tow. Even when I don’t wear makeup, I still wipe my face before I sleep just to remove the nasties of the day.

What I love about the Johnson’s Daily Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes

  • They’re gentle
  • They remove my make up effectively
  • They don’t leave my skin feeling dry and thirsty.

The ingredients are gentle and don’t irritate my skin, and they also don’t suck out all of the moisture from my skin either as they’re alcohol-free and contain vitamins and minerals to nurture as they clean. I’ve used wipes where I’ve had to really scrub my face to remove something as minor as blush! These wipes remove 99% of makeup, including my waterproof mascara – which everyone knows is usually such a mission to get off. They’re so quick to clean, I can be ready for bed in a minute. I also love that they’re wet. Wetness is an absolute must for me in wipes – if it gets dry halfway through my cleansing, then it’s not for me. These stay wet for the duration of my routine and the last wipe in the pack is just as wet as the first.

There’s a wipe for every skin type.

My skin has been up and down the past couple of years because of pregnancy and post-partum hormones, and instead of changing brands to suit my changes, I’ve just used another variation of the wipes. I usually use the wipes for ‘Normal Skin’ but I’ve also used the ones for ‘Combination Skin’ when my face got oilier after I had Kai.

For Normal Skin

This is the pack I usually use and have used for years. It’s enriched with minerals that leave your skin feeling clean and refreshed.

For Dry Skin

I sometimes switch to this one when we’re having a very harsh winter as my skin gets so dry. This variant preserves the skin’s natural moisture levels to protect it from dryness.

For Combination Skin

I used this one when my T-zone got really oily after I had Kai, yet my cheeks and chin areas were dry. It has a 3-in-1 function by cleansing, removing makeup and purifying the skin. It’s also oil-free and packed with minerals.

For Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, this is the one for you as the wipes are extra gentle, 100% fragrance and alcohol-free.

So that’s it, my number one tip for better skin. Simple.

What are some of yours?

Thanks for the tip! Pregnancy has made me soooooo lazy to wash my face after a long day , and despite the pimples that come with it I am sometimes just too exhausted! Will go and look for these and give them a try!

You’re not lazy, you’re pregnant! You have every reason to be so exhausted, and the perfect reason to try these wipes. They’re must-haves in my routine 🙂
