Kai’s New Room Tour

With the big boy move to start pre-school, comes a bigger boy bedroom! I’ve been hinting that I’m making over Kai’s room for a couple of weeks now. The truth is it’s taken me more than a couple of weeks to finally get to this point. I honestly didn’t think I would change his room much before his 2nd birthday but it’s the perfect time to. He’s completely outgrown his cot and his personality is much more obvious now than when he was still a baby. So, I wanted to customise his space more and make his area in the house special; where he can play, read and of course, sleep 🙂 I’m so excited to finally reveal Kai’s new room to you.

I kept the colour palette the same as his old room, but emphasised the neutrals more and used yellow much less. I used the Plascon Double Velvet paints to create the mountain mural; the background is a cool grey (Ripple), the mountains are a dark, boyish grey (Thames Dusk), and the pop of yellow on the peaks is Lemon Rind. It’s now the only yellow in his room but I think it does a great job to add some playfulness to his space. If you’re thinking about upgrading your child’s room with a few simple changes, while making use of pieces you already own, have a watch of my latest video to see how I did it.
